An Idiot Abroad. While I didn't think this book was hilarious like the other Karl Pilkington book I reviewed, I appreciate this one. I appreciate it because it's a real first hand experience of seeing the 7 wonders of the world from a totally ordinary guy who...really just didn't want to even be there. The encounters he had were the real deal. You won't see anybody else being this brutally upfront about the places he visited. He wasn't on a resort, he was living with the locals. I feel on travel shows or even in travel books you are only shown the highlights, never the bad side. And in this book you read about the real India, the real Brazil, the real China, and so forth. That is what makes it so fascinating. I don't like sugar coated experiences, to me that's fake and at best it's a half-truth. There is nothing sugar coated in this book, besides maybe Karl's love for chocolate.

10/10
