A pedophilic love story? Buckle up, buttercup. Welcome to my page! Though this book is filed under fiction, there was an oddly similar case that took place only a few years before this book was written - article attached. If you've ever wondered why Jeffrey Epsteins plane was called the Lolita Express, look no further, you've found it. How old was Lolita? Well we discover she's what is called a nymphet, other wise known as a girl between the ages of 9-14. Having sex with a person of this age is known as rape, ladies and gents, but sure, let the critics call this a love story. It should come as no surprise that this book was banned in parts of Europe, and has remained on the most controversial books list. I'm sure if you're a very open minded person who only sees age as a number, this book may come off as a romance novel. Myself being a mother and a woman who was in a relationship with an older man for a few years, sees this for what it is. This book is a pedophilic romance story. I was grossed out reading it. I was angry at times. This book brought back many memories of my personal run ins with pedophiles, and it gives them far more charm than they actually have. I will say this, however, this book was beautifully written. It was written in a way only old novels are written. Flowy, full of French and charm, it truly does pull you in and refuses to let go, pun not intended. As disgusting as it was...it was indeed a great read...
L'autre soir un air froid d'opera m'alita:
Son fele--bien fol est qui s'y fie! Il neige,
le decor s'ecroule, Lolita! Lolita, qu ai-je fait de ta vie?
My car is limping, Delores Haze,
And the last long lap is the hardest,
And I shall be dumped where the weed decays,
And the rest is rust and stardust.
