Time for everyone to know who my first celebrity crush was. That's right. Marilyn Manson aka Brian Warner. Written in 1998, Manson's famous Autobiography, "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell" quickly became a best seller. I'll be honest, I read his book cover to cover in one day, because how could you not? I was scared to read it. Not because I thought it would suck or it would end up being a scary story, but because, well, what if he wasn't what I thought? What if his entire life and identity was one big charade and he was actually a total putz? Luckily, that wasn't the case. From beginning to end this book was incredible. From his freaky-ass uncle that he lived with who was into some beastiality and helped actually form Manson's identity, to the story of him losing his virginity, his friends satanic brother and that scary story that I still think about occasionally, to how he really fought for his band to make it big no matter what. One of my older favorite past times used to be watching Brian Warner being interviewed on talk shows, late night TV, etc. The way he was able to talk circles around those hosts and kill them with such intellect and class astounded me. Not only was he interesting and talented, he was intelligent. He knew what he was talking about and he did it well. He knew the awards shows, fame, tv, all of it was bullshit before any body else really caught wind of it. Nowadays it's pretty common knowledge. I think Manson helped push that along quite a bit. Though a lot has happened since 1998, obviously, this book is still a great read for anyone who loves his band, are curious about him, or perhaps those of you who hate him for what he stands for, perhaps reading his autobiography will show you how intelligent and artistic he really is. By the way, his name Marilyn Manson was a combination of the most beautiful icon, Marilyn Monroe, and the most hated, Charles Manson. Just a fun fact.

10/10
