Politically Correct by James Finn Garner is a both hilarious yet totally a 2019 book. When I first received this book as a gift as a young teen I thought it was hilarious. But also very far fetched and kind of strange to use such PC language. Now in 2019 I've seen tales of old told in ways eerily similar to how they're worded in this book. That's frightening. But in a way, still hilarious. Hilariously stupid perhaps, but I digress. This book is a roller coaster. I've always loved fairy tales for the mysticism and creativity. I studied them often throughout my life, and wrote many book reports on them throughout my school career. The PC versions obviously screw the fun up, however I partially think that the authors goal of writing this book was to show just how ridiculous the whole PC culture is, it's a mockery. I've laughed out loud every time I've re-read this book. I'm convinced at this point PC culture ruins everything it touches. Some of my favorites from this book include, "A Politically Correct Alphabet", "Sleeping Person of Better-Than-Average Attractiveness", "Little Red Riding Hood", and finally, "The Three Codependent Goats Gruff." Just to name a few.
10/10
