My sister bought me this book, I believe, on my 18th birthday. I read it cover to cover in one sitting as morbid as that may seem. Though it may look like a goths instruction manual, it's extremely interesting and full of death-related fun facts. From the history of death to celebrities, war, disease, tons of statistics, suicide, the death penalty, hara-kiri, decomposition and other methods, poisons, ancient practices, jobs, animals, funny cartoons, and much more, there's bound to be something in it for you. I revisit this book every now and then for informational purposes, and to just brush up on odd facts. While this book may not be everybody's cup of tea, it's an unfortunate fact that we will all have to have that uncomfortable conversation about death sooner or later. My husband and I have had it multiple times so we're on the same page about our last wishes and our funerals. I've already had the Swedish Death Cleaning conversation with my parents so when the time comes I'll be able to deal with the heavy burden of dealing with a loved ones belongings without guilt.

10/10
